Community Development & Neighborhood Bra

Community Development & Neighborhood Branding Committee 

Provides two functions in the Northside neighborhood. One is geared toward building a unified and collective neighborhood identity that will promote the assets of the Northside 2027 neighborhood and business district. The committee will work towards developing a marketing and branding strategy. Community Development will create and implement projects that enhance the quality of life for residents through expanded or new public services, community events, and programs for youth and families.  

 

GOALS: 

  1. Leverage existing neighborhood assets to expand availability of services

  2. Build community cohesion

 

Meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. 
 

Foster Economic Vitality- Website  - Cop

Foster Economic Vitality Committee 

Will focus on the economic vitality and visibility of the Northside 2027 business corridor located along Linden and Broad Street.  The committee will focus on the development and implementation of a revitalization strategy to enhance the visibility of the existing businesses and attract new businesses through physical improvements and programmatic interventions. The committee will focus efforts on physical improvements, redevelopment, and adding amenities along the business corridors on Linden and Broad Street. 

GOALS: 

  1. Implement physical improvements to Broad Street 

  2. Implement physical improvements to Linden Street 

  3. Support existing businesses and attract new ones

 

Meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m.
 

Safe and vibrant Public Realm - Website

Safe & Vibrant Public Realm Committee 

Will focus on enhancing multimodal safety that will improve the mobility of residents and enhance the aesthetic quality of streets and public spaces. The committee will create and implement projects in the neighborhood that focus on streetscape improvements, improving safety at designated intersections, upgrading neighborhood parks, adding green spaces, and public art to the neighborhood.


GOALS: 

  1. Prioritize Multi-modal safety and connectivity between neighborhood assets 

  2. Enhance and beautify the public realm to create a sense of place

Meets every 3rd Friday of the month at 11 a.m.

Housing Committee 

Aims to support both renters and homeowners by improving housing stock, preserving affordability, and addressing quality of life issues.  The committee will explore programs units and initiative that increase homeownership, support the improvement and preservation off rental and affordable housing needs. The committee will explore the development of a neighborhood improvement district that supports housing rehabilitation, neighborhood safety and clean-up, and provides potential resources for home maintenance and housing rehabilitation. 


GOALS: 

  1. Support homeowners and renters through incentives, resources, and enforcement 

  2. Enhance quality of life for all residents
